Sailing in Greece

Greece is one of the most beautiful sailing areas in Europe. We start from Athens and sail to the Saronic Islands and visit ports such as: Poros, Hydra, Spetses, Porto Heli and Monemvasia. The area also has many beautiful anchorage bays where we can enjoy some peace and quiet. The average wind in summer is calm, but there is also a chance of strong winds when the Meltemi starts blowing. The Meltemi is a strong wind from the North. The average temperature in summer is between 28 and 32 degrees Celsius, with peaks of up to 40 degrees Celsius. The port dues are cheap, but the ports do not have luxurious facilities. Greek cuisine is characterized by the use of fresh, local ingredients, such as olive oil, herbs, vegetables, fish and meat. Ouzo, a strong aniseed liqueur that is often drunk as an aperitif. The menu also includes: Tzatziki, Moussaka, Souvlaki and of course Baklava for dessert. In addition to sailing, we can swim, walk and snorkel and you can admire impressive remains from ancient Greece.

The nearest airport is Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”. The transfer from to the port can be done within an hour by bus.

Within a week it is possible to sail via Poros, Hydra, Spetses, Porto Heli and the like to Monemvasia and then back.

If you would book a yacht through me and hire me as your charter skipper or sailing instructor, you can enjoy your sailing holiday in a safer and more relaxed way and for those who wish: improve their sailing skills and knowledge.
